terms & conditions

We don't have many strict terms & conditions at mix'n'mac, more practicalities really. So that there are no surprises down the line, please take a moment to read through the following.

Bookings and payments.

Confirmation.
Bookings cannot normally be confirmed more than 12 months in advance although we will be happy to pencil in any enquiry. To confirm a booking, you must return a signed contract along with a £100.00 deposit. Once we receive and process the contract and deposit, we will contact you to confirm the booking.
Cancellation.
The deposit is non-refundable. Cancellation of your event between 2 and 7 days prior to the event date will incur a charge of 50% of the total booking fee. Cancellation less than 48 hours prior to the event date will result in 75% of the total booking fee being charged.
Payment.
Payments can be made in cash, by cheque or by direct bank transfer (please ask for bank details). All fees should be paid no less than 7 days prior to the event date. Any cancellation fees or bank charges incurred (e.g. due to returned cheques) will be invoiced separately and should be paid within 14 days of the invoice date. Receipts are available on request. Please note that mix’n’mac events is not VAT registered.

Venue requirements.

Stage area.
We require stage space (not necessarily raised) of approximately 10ft by 10ft to accommodate ourselves and our equipment. Additionally, we will require 2 standard UK 13A mains sockets (preferably not a double socket) within 5m of the stage.
Access and parking.
If the venue to be used is not on the ground floor, please let us know in advance. We appreciate provision of a drop-off point on arrival, as the gear is heavy. This point should also be available at the end of the event for load-out. Parking facilities should be provided for at least one vehicle.

Scheduling.
Get-in.
It takes us a minimum of 1 hour to bring the equipment into the venue and set it up, assuming access is straightforward.

Get-out.
Similarly, it takes us about 45 minutes to break down the equipment and remove it from the venue, again assuming the route is straightforward.

Sundry requirements.

mix’n’mac staff are fuelled on a strict diet of coffee (white with 1 sugar) and Irn Bru. If there is food provided for your audience or guests during the event we would, out of discretion, prefer not to queue with them and respectfully request a quantity of food be apportioned on our behalf and delivered to us. If no food is provided for the audience then a suitable quantity of reasonable quality sandwiches will suffice.
If your event is more than 100 miles from our Edinburgh base, we will require overnight accommodation in the vicinity of the venue. However, a budget hotel will normally suffice, which we will book ourselves. Quoted and published package prices allow for this.
From time to time we may take photographs for use in future publicity material. Please let us know in advance if you would prefer us not to photograph your event or guests.

The not-so-pleasant bits.

If our access to the venue, or the event start time, is delayed by overrunning procedures or by anything beyond our control, this does not necessarily mean an extension of the pre-arranged finish time or fee reduction. Performance times may be extended by agreement with mix'n'mac staff and venue management, and an additional fee may be payable.
We will always endeavour to fulfil our contractual obligations but cannot be held responsible for illnesses, accidents, breakdowns or other occurences or situations outwith our control that may prevent us from doing so. We will, of course, make all reasonable effort to rectify situations that may jeopardise our attendance or performance. In the unlikely event of a non-performance, a full refund will be made. This will be the limit of our liability.
